Thank you for fully funding the materials to support our intervention group. Because of your generosity, we have moved from sharing one aging set of tools to having enough resources to run concurrent intervention groups in different locations. Instead of juggling schedules, our groups can now meet 4–5 days a week at the same time! This consistency is a game-changer for our students' progress.\r\n\r\n When the boxes arrived and the students first saw the crisp, new mini chalkboards, there was a visible sense of ownership and excitement. In a world of digital screens, there is something nostalgic and grounding about a \"vintage\" chalkboard that immediately piqued their curiosity. They were eager to dive in and get their hands—literally—on the work.\r\n\r\n We are currently using these resources across six Kindergarten classrooms, focusing on multi-sensory work and visual-motor skills. We actually break the chalk and cut the sponges into tiny pieces to naturally encourage a tripod grasp, preventing \"fisted\" writing. Chalk teaches students how much force is needed to leave a mark.\r\nStudents reinforce bilateral skills by holding the board with one hand while writing with the other. The most magical part that a photo can't capture is the sound of students repeating the specific language for each stroke as they draw.\r\n \r\n Thank you again from all of us. Something as simple as chalk, sponges, and chalkboards is helping our students lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning!","fullyFundedDate":1765856313455,"projectUrl":"project/old-school-ways-writing-for-days/9608216/","projectTitle":"Old School Ways, Writing for Days!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wentworth, OTR","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2856043_orig.png?crop=612,612,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755321534495","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2856043"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_41641","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":368,"numTeachers":19,"percentFrplEligible":15,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":77,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"19.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.0,"schoolId":41641,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Roxborough Primary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Roxborough Primary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/douglas-county-school-district-re-1/roxborough-primary-school/41641"}
