The Stress Test, Not Really

Help me give my students fidget bands and stress balls to help them stay seated and focused during testing.

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

State testing is coming up soon and my students are like a lot of others. State testing is stressful. Having to sit for several hours and remain focused is difficult. Even adults have a hard time remaining still and quiet for several hours a day. Having a supportive, calm testing environment helps to lower stress and ultimately improve results.

This project is meant to allow students to have small movement opportunities throughout the testing window so they can remain seated, remain focused, and perform their best on the tests.

Kickbands will be useful to allow simple leg movements that are not distracting. Stress balls will be helpful in allowing my students to do something with their hands while reading the questions. Finally, the silly eraser toppers will give them small moments of amusement and joy, while dealing with a potentially stressful environment.
