This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These keyboards will continue to enhance the learning enviornment that I strive to create within the music classroom. My classroom is a place that students enjoy being a part of by engaging within our band and music classes. In our music class, I have so many talented singers and young musicians that are phenomenal at playing their instruments for band. We were used for our students to be able to learn the fundamentals of playing piano. During our General Music class, I was able to create a piano lesson to introduce this instrument that acts as a foundation for all music to our students. However, our school only has one piano that the students can use. So many students ask me when and how can they learn piano. This project is to bring that want and desire to our musically talented group of students.

Students will be able to use their own 61-note piano with their own headphones and be able to learn at their own rate while working on what inspires them about music.

They will be able to choose music that personally interests them, while learning how to read and play piano music effectively. Which will ultimately help these students who wish to further pursue their dream of music in high school, and for those already talking about going to college for music.

All of my students want to learn the piano, and I know they would absolutely love to have a piano class. I have personally seen the joy on our students faces when they play on the piano for the first time. These keyboards would allow for the piano class to be created. I want to continue to spread that joy and I know that this piano class would further inspire our students!

Mr. Hall will only receive his materials if this project is fully funded by August 28.
