This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our learning community provides opportunities for diverse learners in the inner city.
38% of our students are a part of our Exceptional Students learning community.
We live in a challenging community where playground equipment is limited. Providing optional learning settings, seating and opportunities throughout the classroom and school will ensure my students are provided with an equitable learning culture.
We are a school community that loves to support inclusive learning. We love movement and free play during recess. Our team works extremely hard to ensure learning is equitable throughout our school community.
My Project
Music supports students' academic growth in Math & Science. Music also enriches students' use of their imagination and creates opportunity to grow social skills. Students at my school will have the opportunity to use handbells, drumsticks and the rainforest tom to create music to express themselves. Playing an instrument seems creative and often groups in with promoting a kid’s artistic side.
Playing an instrument is a way kids can band together and develop healthy social habits.
Having a music program will improve memory skills. Music teaches kids to effectively create, store and retrieve memories, similar to a workout for the brain. Help us add music to our hearts, feet and souls.
