Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse, bright, and enthusiastic group of young learners from different backgrounds across the greater San Diego area. We are a Title I charter school that places value on developing critical thinking skills in addition to helping each student become an active member of their community. In this urban school setting, students don't always have the same materials or school grounds as other students in different areas. Our school also has a high percentage of students from military families. These students often move from place to place, and settling into a new school and classroom can be an additional challenge.

My Project

Currently, at our school site, we have started welcoming back half of the student population. While we are excited, we are in need of some go-to school supplies.

To keep all students and staff members safe, all students require their own personal set of supplies that will remain at their desks.

Students can have quick access to their supplies and avoid handling communal items.

Many students returning to school, in almost a year, are cherishing and enjoying simple school supplies that may have been taken for granted in the past.
