This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Sometimes it's the little things like having enough pencils that make all the difference! It's also incredibly helpful to have binders to organize student work. The binders requested will be used to hold student notebooks and flashcards for reading. Each student will have their own box to keep their binder, pencil, and flashcards in the same place each day.
The items requested might seem basic but that's because a classroom has lots of basic needs!
When these needs are met, students can stay organized. Organization helps the day go smoothly. The green folders are for going home because "green means go"! Color queuing is another great organizational strategy. Because my students struggle to read, we will use the puffy paint to write sight words. Once the words are dry they will trace them with their finger. This multisensory approach engages even the most reluctant reader.
