Mrs. B. from Mars Hill ME is requesting Instructional Technology through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

The Sky's the Limit!

My students need tools such as a telescope and case, binoculars, and a tripod to be able to apply what they are learning in class.

My Students

Our students are creative and energetic learners who live in a small community with limited funding. They are highly motivated and enjoy opportunities to think outside the box. The community works hard to provide necessary resources for our students, but it is sometimes necessary to seek outside assistance to acquire materials that supplement our curriculum. We are always looking for ways to support our students' varied learning styles and needs. Community support in a small town is instrumental in helping to create a learning environment that fosters creativity and exploration!

My Project

This STEM project is inspired by libraries that allow patrons to borrow telescopes. I have chosen a highly-rated telescope, Orion's StarBlast 4.5, a pair of binoculars, carrying cases, and tripods, as well as books to help students explore the night sky!

My hope is that the telescope and binoculars will be used for students to apply what they learn in their classes by exploring at their own pace and with their friends and families.

This project is not like anything we have to offer in the library. By adding astronomy materials to our collection, we are going to be able to allow students, hopefully with the help of their parents, to continue learning in a unique way well beyond the school day!
