Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Music education is vital in developing the brain of the whole child. cognitively and emotionally. These instruments will help enable my students to broaden and deepen their musical knowledge and experiences in my classroom and in performances for the school community. These instruments will enable us to meet Ohio standards in music education, particularly in areas such as music theory and working together as a team in project-based learning.

These instruments will enable us to reach our goals of starting a thriving music education program at our school that features the unifying creativity of students while building community with all of our stakeholders.

I look forward to teaching daily with this equipment and giving our students high-level, rigorous performance opportunities within our school and community.

We are a Title I School, meaning that most of our students come from impoverished homes and have little to no exposure to diverse music and the arts. These instruments will enable our students to learn about diverse cultures, perspective, and human experiences throughout the world through music.
