My Project

Do you remember stepping into that one classroom that encouraged creativity and diversity from its students? If not, step into the welcoming doors of Holley-Navarre Middle School and experience how our students’ unique strengths have an opportunity to flourish and thrive. As a science teacher and exceptional student educator (ESE), it is my passion to create a psychologically supportive environment that encourages both academic and socioemotional growth. Recent research shows that providing a rich sensory filled environment serves to regulate students and activate their ventral vagal nerve which encourages academic and social engagement. Therefore, my students, especially those that have experienced trauma or have been recently diagnosed with disorders such as autism, ADHD, or ADD deserve to experience the regulating effects of a sensory rich environment, so that their strengths may prosper in the educational setting. Please join me in offering healthy coping mechanisms that will reduce negative behaviors and improve academic success in my classroom for my students. Thank you for your consideration!
