This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Providing classroom snacks is a simple yet powerful way to promote mental health and emotional stability among students, especially in demanding STEM classes. Learning complex concepts requires concentration, patience, and problem-solving all of which are harder to maintain when students are hungry or stressed. Nutritious snacks help regulate mood and energy levels, allowing students to focus and participate more confidently. For English Language Learners and students with special needs, snacks also create a sense of security and comfort that fosters inclusion and calm. Many of our students are balancing schoolwork with personal challenges and dreams of being the first in their families to graduate high school and attend college. Offering snacks is one small but meaningful way to show them they are cared for, supported, and capable of achieving their goals while maintaining good mental health.
