This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In addition to learning, my 5th-grade special education students also have the right to play. Although we do have some physical education supplies, there are still some things that are lacking. Additionally, sometimes our supplies end up in other classrooms or they simply just never make it back to the class.

For some students, recess, lunch, and physical education are the only time in the day that they can play freely and happily, so we want to show them as many sports as possible.

Our students have shown an interest in baseball so I included bases, wiffle balls, wiffle bats, and a t-stand so it is safe for everyone. My goal in this project is to just allow them to have fun and show them there is more than just swings and slides! It is also a plus to learn the importance of teamwork!
