The students in my class are learning and growing every day. They get excited about learning and take pride in their work. They are responsible and respectful of their classroom; they take ownership by caring for their materials as well as for each other. I believe that all of my students can make daily progress when they are given the opportunity to work at their individual levels.
Kindergarten students enjoy a variety of literary activities which inspire them to learn and grow.
The students all work at different reading levels; some of them learning the sounds of letters of the alphabet, others reading complex chapter books. They enjoy encouraging one another to accomplish new challenges. They are intrinsically motivated because they are excited to learn about their world!
My goal is to have every student feel empowered, encouraged, and accepted. If that is accomplished, then students are able to concentrate on developing independent learning skills. The students in my classroom are all working on individual goals and their instruction is differentiated to help accomplish those goals.
My Project
Children who are just beginning to read need to have access to as many books as possible which are at their exact level of expertise. Beginning readers thrive when they they are reading books just like their peers. More and more books in the hands of beginning readers can only enhance their self-esteem, their love of learning, and their desire to read even more!

The students in my classroom do have many books to look at, but they do not have many books that they can actually read. Providing them with this gift will be truly inspiring.
