Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students would severely benefit academically and social-emotionally from these new materials. Their favorite subject overall is mathematics. With this opportunity my students will use these math toys and games manipulatives to explore, learn mathematical foundational skills, and will attend and engage with their peers!

My students would learn counting skills, one-to- one correspondence, shape identification, patterns, number identification which are the main skills to learn to be ready for kindergarten!

With these materials, the toys and games center would come to life with learning, creativity, and a foundation in mathematical skills through this project being funded. I plan to observe students playing with these manipulatives and watch them be excited about learning while recording their growth milestones. The purpose of preschool is to prepare students for kindergarten. I will strive to use these materials and interact with students in their play in order for them to be mathematically ready for kindergarten!
