This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. In the morning students will be able to choose their seating by placing their numbered magnet at where they would like to sit for that day. This will also help motivate students to want to come to school on time and eliminate tardiness. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They are more inclined to make good choices, more engaged, and get more work completed when they enjoy their seating choice.

The seating I have selected will help my students by giving them additional options to make more effective learning choices, as well as durability to withstand multiple years of usage.

The wobble stools are adjustable and will allow students to sit at a desk/high table but will still allow some movement These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get their wiggles out. The stools are durable and can stand the test of time with students. Ottoman stools are soft and provide comfort while working independently. In addition, I have included different games, that support students in the development of teamwork, sportsmanship, and deductive thinking.

I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help even more.
