This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our community school is very diverse where many backgrounds and languages are represented. For most of our students, English is not the primary language. As a result, my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face on an everyday basis, I am always looking to provide my students with meaningful learning experiences.

My students show up to school excited and ready to learn!

It is my goal to help my students not only reach the next reading level, but to keep my students motivated to learn.

My Project

In our classroom, we currently have the reading comprehension quiz cards and the math facts quiz cards that require the use of our 4 power pens. These materials have made our centers fun and engaging!

As Albert Einstein said, "The only source of knowledge is experience." As a teacher, I want to provide meaningful learning experiences to all my students.

With having only one set of power pens, we are constantly using the same power pens for both math and reading centers. It's time to add to our collection of power pens so we can have more students expand their knowledge at the same time. With power pens, students need to rely on themselves to answer reading questions or math facts. The pens check answers instantly so immediately students know if their answers are right or wrong. These pens allow my students to take control of their own learning!
