This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Do you remember writing notes to friends on stationery? That feeling of receiving something addressed to you in the mail, and excitedly reading a sweet letter from a friend? Well, those fond memories do not exist for a lot of children today, including my second graders, due to the advancement of other ways of technological communication.

Everyone knows that learning how to write should be developed as early as possible.

This is why practicing how to write, including letters, is so crucial. I would love to get stationery supplies, writing paper, and postage stamps to encourage this learning. Specifically, I want to show students how to write letters to friends, write thank you letters of appreciation, and how to properly address letters to be posted in the mail.

This will be an engaging activity for my students (current and future) to learn to write, and understand the importance of how to read too! The best part is, letters are tangible. They will be a nice keepsake for students to hold as a memorable learning souvenir. For this reason, I am requesting fun stationery, Mother's Day card kits, postage stamps, and other related materials.
