These books send positive and supportive messages to help them navigate through sensitive subjects, in clear and child-friendly language. \r\n\r\nSchool is time to learn and focus on academics, but I also want my students to experience acceptance and to manage their emotions. This is a unique project, because my personal hope is that none of my students will ever be in need of these materials. \r\n\r\nMy students see the reality of the neighborhood around them. Although they often think about the things they do NOT have, I remind them to be thankful of the things they do have. I let them know that having a place to live and food to eat may not be the reality for a lot of people, including children. My students helped put the bags together, knowing that these items would be given to those that may need extra food items to eat. Excitedly, they commented that the bags were heavy - which is a great thing! They learned an important lesson too - that holidays are for sharing! \r\n\r\nMore importantly, these items represent the fact that there are good people in this world that care for their well-being. That knowledge adds comfort and security to all my students - those that may or may not be in need. Many of them gasped, cheered, and immediately asked, \"Do we really get to use all of this?\" For students who rarely have access to high-quality art supplies, this delivery felt like a treasure chest. They crowded around the table in awe—testing the softness of the modeling clay, running their fingers through the paintbrush bristles, and admiring the bright felt pens. Their excitement was pure and contagious.\r\n\r\nWe put the materials to use right away. Our very first project was a \"Primary Pumpkins\" lesson I purchased with the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card you provided. Students used the new paints, cardstock, scissors, and fine-tip markers to design and paint their own pumpkins. For many, it was their first time intentionally mixing colors, and they were astonished to see how every color begins with just three primaries. One student beamed and said, \"I feel like a real artist today.\" Several proudly asked if they could take their artwork home to share with their families.\r\n\r\nThese supplies have already transformed not only our art time, but our entire classroom environment. Students are calmer, more focused, and genuinely eager to create. We've begun brainstorming how to use the new clay to sculpt animals for our upcoming endangered animals unit—connecting science and art in a way that simply wasn't possible before. Our next big step is launching an \"Artist of the Month\" series using the TPT resources you made possible. Students will explore artists like Frida Kahlo and Romero Britto, learn new techniques, and create their own pieces inspired by each artist's unique style. Without your support, lessons like these simply wouldn't have existed in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my students the tools, inspiration, and confidence to see themselves as artists. Your generosity made an immediate impact, and it will continue to shape their creativity all year long. The pattern blocks and puzzles added additional engagement opportunities for early finishers. This has to be the most popular and amazing project that I've ever had funded for my students, and the materials arrived just in time!\r\n\r\nRegular attendance is so important in the classroom environment! When a day or two (or more) of school is missed, so much is lost. This project has definitely added excitement and enthusiasm to come to school every day! In September, I told students that I would be keeping track of those with no absences. For the first month, two lucky names were picked by a guest staff member, and the winners each picked from this awesome collection of prizes. The winners chose the 36 pack of markers, and the LEGO set to take home and enjoy! Then recently at the end of October, another staff person visited and selected two new perfect attendance winners. The selected prizes this time: a STEM magnet set and a koala plushie. The cycle will repeat every month or so, with two more winners until the end of the academic year.\r\n\r\nGreat school attendance is a win-win! This will help students get smarter, become more involved, and support the overall classroom climate. So the school setting is the only safe and consistent place for my students to run, play and be free. This is why having these materials are so important. My students can practice hand-eye coordination, balance, and teamwork. The jump ropes are so needed because many students have never had the opportunity to use one. For many, their first lesson was simply to stand and move the jump rope forward and backward. The pedal bikes are perfect to offer students opportunity to exercise indoors, or release extra energy. Using these materials, sharing laughs and having fun - a huge win-win for all!\r\n\r\nYour support is so important to my students, and communities like the one they live in. Let's just say, that even though the weather outside was frightful, warm smiles and hugs made the day delightful! The recipients were so touched by this kind gesture! These adults do not get sweet letters and notes that classroom teachers often do, so they were so pleasantly surprised. Many got teary-eyed - both adults and students!
