This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are 600+ students in our school. We need money to help supply our many needs. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

I teach at a school where 95% of the students are socioeconomically disadvantaged, and 67% are English Language Learners.

Only 35% of adults living within my school's zip code have graduated from high school. The students I work with battle tremendous challenges, but they are incredibly bright and resilient. They will make tremendous progress this year, despite the challenges they face.

My Project

Many of my students are English Language Learners. Having A Level books to create a diverse library helps create a broader learning experience for my students. This past school year many of our books were damaged or missing, so my students had a smaller library to read.

With more choices for reading, the students will be more successful and have an easier time for learning to read and write the English Language.

First grade is one of the most important school grades because it helps create the foundation necessary for success in later grades, higher education, and future potential career fields.
