Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are in need of social-emotional learning. They lack the skills necessary to be friendly with one another, to regulate their emotions, and to understand how to push forward when “the going gets tough”.

This project will provide us with quality picture books that will drive our learning on topics related to mental health and positive social skills.

The best way to teach anything is with a book. As I sit on the carpet of my classroom, I have the chance to help my students see through pictures and dialogue how they can become advocates for their own lives.

I have also included a couple other things that I believe will help my classroom community. I added some flower theme building blocks that we can work on together during our Valentine's party or as a Mother's Day gift, some Bingo cards that will help making learning fun, and elastic chair bands that will help some of my students with their fidgeting tendencies. The stapler will help me to become more organized and serve my students as a whole.
