Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My beautiful second graders live in a diverse community and are beginning to understand the real world around them. They live in a high-poverty, high-traffic neighborhood with the school setting being their own little world. For this reason, I try to create a warm and welcoming classroom environment where they feel safe and receive regular doses of knowledge and encouragement.
The engaging match ups and puzzles are needed for independent and hands-on student practice.
Students will be more motivated to learn and complete the learning task at hand - whether individually or with a friend, with these new additions!
The durable organizer will help keep our colorful assortment of large construction paper arranged to stay visible/accessible for student art projects. In addition, we need quality and durable scissors to replace the low-quality ones we now have. The ID badge holders will be for student lunch tags and for our upcoming field trip. The sheet protectors will be used to organize and store work packets for students who miss school. The clipboard is for me to use within the classroom for administrative purposes. All of these materials, including the cardstock, stickers and name-tags, are needed to help keep my students organized and engaged with their learning.
