Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to learn and are curious about the world around them. They work hard and deserve to be rewarded! In our class, students can get rewarded with "Koala-ty tickets" for showing effort, having respect, being safe, and displaying responsibility. Once they earn enough, they can pick an item from the class store, which is part of my PBIS - Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports - program!

Our class store inventory needs replenishment so my students can be motivated and rewarded for making the right choices!

The Hot Wheels cars, stress balls, parachute toys, koala clips, and other incentives would be great items for them! Students love to shop, and appreciate the items more because they earned them! The better the selection, the more my students are incentivized to work harder. Plus, this will help students better prepare for the real world - connecting the idea of how working hard brings better benefits!

All of these prizes can be easily stored and then carted out every Friday for store time. Since money and its concepts are officially introduced in second grade, this is the best time to expose students to the ideas of how earning, saving and spending works, which will help with their future financial literacy.
