it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My beautiful second graders live in a diverse community and are beginning to understand the real world around them. They live in a high-poverty, high-traffic neighborhood with the school setting being their own little world. For this reason, I try to create a warm and welcoming classroom environment where they feel safe and receive regular doses of knowledge and encouragement.
The remedial phonics puzzles and games are highly needed in my classroom for students who are delayed with their reading.
Rather than depending on technology, this allows my students to practice with hands-on and engaging activities to develop their phonics and blending skills. The handheld mirrors will be shared with students schoolwide, so they can see how the teeth, lips, tongues, and mouth work together to form various sounds. Lastly, the monitor stand will be for me to keep my technology organized, and the limited working space clutter-free.
