This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My beautiful second graders live in a diverse community and are beginning to understand the real world around them. They live in a high-poverty, high-traffic neighborhood with the school setting being their own little world. For this reason, I try to create a warm and welcoming classroom environment where they feel safe and receive regular doses of knowledge and encouragement.
As the academic year nears the end, the realization is setting in that we could use some fun materials to wrap up the year!
The instant film will be used to capture accomplishments, smiles, and fun moments for the students to have a tangible memento to enjoy. The pump will be used for balloons to create excitement for classroom/schoolwide celebrations. The whiteboard erasers are needed for students to work and take chances with their learning. Finally, the new pencils are needed to provide an engaging way for students to write comprehensive sentences and stories. All these and the other requested classroom items do make a difference to improve our work and play.
