Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My beautiful second graders live in a diverse community in a high-poverty, high-traffic neighborhood with the school setting being their own little world. For this reason, I try to create a warm and welcoming classroom environment that meets their unique and various needs. To help meet this challenge, I often rely on Teachers Pay Teachers.
Teachers Pay Teachers is an online resource for educators to find new and supplemental ways to reach and teach students about holidays, activities, and current/historical figures.
Gift cards will go towards the purchase of holiday studies, multi-cultural lessons, diversity activities, and more! This includes learning more about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Lunar New Year, Cesar Chavez, Cinco de Mayo, Juneteenth, and other important celebrations that reflect my classroom population. This month alone offers opportunities to learn about the significance of Dr. King, and the Lunar New Year - the Year of the Dragon. The learning possibilities are endless! TPT materials are rated for quality, in addition to being searchable by subject, grade-level, and resource type. The gift cards will add variety, engagement and extra learning opportunities with most any subject imaginable.
