Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My beautiful second graders live in a diverse community and are beginning to understand the real world around them. They live in a high-poverty, high-traffic neighborhood with the school setting being their own little world. For this reason, I try to create a warm and welcoming classroom environment where they feel safe and receive regular doses of knowledge and encouragement.
We are in need of science books and engaging hands-on materials to explore fun activities!
The silicone molds and juices will be used to create our own in-house popsicles! The soap and food coloring (along with glue) will be for engaging experiments. Meanwhile, the art supplies will give my students opportunities to learn about nature, and express their creative sides! The watercolors, Model Magic, Play-Doh and pencils will allow my students to make beautiful art with their own two hands. The lanyards are for an upcoming field trip, while the popcorn will be reserved as rewards/snacks for their classroom accomplishments. Most importantly, students will receive their own science books to read and enjoy at home!
