it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My beautiful second graders live in a diverse community and are beginning to understand the real world around them. They live in a high-poverty, high-traffic neighborhood with the school setting being their own little world. For this reason, teachers and staff at my school try to create a warm and welcoming environment where they feel safe and receive regular doses of knowledge, encouragement and fun.
Our school would LOVE to have a large inflatable screen to host a movie night.
With this large screen, students can enjoy a memorable experience with their families and loved ones! Watching a movie at school, would be so cool and build a positive memory for all. Our school has always done more than offer just a place where students are taught reading, writing and arithmetic. We have offered health screenings, food distribution, and other community events. A movie night would be a great addition to offer. Although we are a fairly big city, there are no theaters in the entire city. The large screen and protective tarp to place underneath are key items needed to make this evening a success (and to protect the screen for future movie screenings).
