This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school that deserves to be treated like we are number 1! Our students have PE every day for thirty minutes! Students participate in a variety of fitness activities, interactive games, and opportunities for positive social-emotional development. They learn in an environment of work, play, and mindfulness.

A high percentage of our students have social-emotional needs and the need for an innovative activity helps significantly.

Supporting our students with dynamic learning opportunities and using best practices for instructional strategies gives each child the best opportunity to graduate and be a positive contributing citizen.

My Project

Our students love to play! Whether it be at recess or in physical education, our kids will play hard, respectfully, and full of laughs. The problem we have run into is that our students lack equipment to carry out a diversity of games. Being a Title I school we know how to make the best of what we have but if I could give these students one more piece of equipment, it could open their minds up to so much more. These playground balls would help us daily with different lessons we could create. We would be able to have units on wall ball, 4-square, and kickball.

These balls are perfect for any game or activity!

We can utilize them for so many activities. Students can learn games that help them with their social and emotional learning, team bonding, communication, hand eye coordination skills, foot eye coordination skills, and so much more. The opportunities will be endless. This would give our school a boost of alternative activities that they haven't had the opportunity to play.

This was my favorite equipment to play with growing up and with the help of this project it can be theirs too!
