My Project

My students read Night in their freshman year of high school to help them become more fluent and educated readers. The classroom culture we've made places a high value on reading and engaging with high interests books. My main goal for all of my students when it comes to reading places a high priority to expos students to non-fiction stories. This is mainly so that students are able to "read" the world in which they navigate

Night is not only an engaging text, it teaches students about real life events from the perspective of the affected directly.

Having a class set that can be shared among 4 classes will provide that opportunity for them. We also read this book out loud/ from an audiobook. With the aid of each student having their own copy, students will be able to participate in the reading more frequently.
