My Students

My students are an amazing group of 1st graders! They had to go virtual during their preschool year. Then during their kindergarten year they had to wear masks and socially distance from their peers. This year things are closer to normal but they often have to miss school because they have been exposed or have covid. Even with all of those hardships this class is so happy and excited to learn. Because of all of the disruptions there are some holes in their learning in regards to reading. However, they are always ready to try their best and even better, help out their classmates!

My Project

The books that I am requesting will help the students with the phonics skills that they are working on. By having multiple copies of the whole set I will be able to help all students during small group time progress in their reading by working on the phonics skill that they are struggling with. These books will help them to become more fluent readers. I am also requesting white boards for my students. With these white boards the students will be able to practice their dictation and phonics skills. This will also help with their reading skills.
