My students come into my classroom every day with smiles on their faces, ready to learn. Our school is a low-income, Title I school, so my students face various challenges at home that impact their education. They also come from a variety of cultural backgrounds, speaking many different languages. This year, my students represent 6 different countries. I want my students to forget about the problems that they may be facing at home as soon as they walk into my classroom. I strive to create a fun, welcoming, warm classroom environment each and every day.
From the moment they walk into my classroom, my students deserve to be engaged with fun reading activities.
My students are active and curious learners, and I want this to continue throughout their education careers. My hope is that they never lose their love for reading and that they feel inspired that they can do amazing things.
My Project
My students need new books for our classroom library. They love reading, and love interacting with books. They get lost in the stories, and use them to learn about the world around them. In order to keep my students engaged with reading, we need new classroom library books to read.
Reading is so much fun, and my students deserve books that allow them to develop and maintain a love of reading.
These picture books will be the perfect additions to our classroom library, a place where my students have the opportunity to read for fun, while also developing their reading skills.
My students will be able to read these books during independent reading time, but I will also use these books for my reading lessons. In order to keep my students interested in what I am teaching them, I need to be using books that are meaningful to them. The multicultural library will allow my students to see themselves in books and to learn more about the world they live in. The differing abilities library will also help my students to understand other children in our school and in their world. The kindness book pack will help my students to continue to learn about kindness and the importance of being kind to others. All of these books to be used in my classroom to help my students grow in their reading abilities, while also maintaining their love for reading.
