My students are hungry, not only for the food in the cafeteria, but also for the love and bond between them and their parents or guardians.
Our students are eager to engage in the arts.
Unfortunately, many of our students don't share in the arts outside of our school building. Academics, math and language arts are highly regarded in their homes. Art is not held as valuable as academic subjects. Art enhances the academic subjects every time, every place and every where.
My Project
Our students and an adult will create their handprints observing positive and negative space. The colored pencils, glue, and scissors will also bed their take away gift so they may continue art outside of school. The white and black construction papers will be used for the drawing and for background.
This project will make a huge difference because we plan on hosting a workshop for our families.
Our goal is to invite each child with his or her male figure in his/her life. Together the couple will express and create a piece of artwork they may cherish forever.
