Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have been working on a campus-wide cross-curricular project with our Labyrinth as the centerpiece. Our students have been reading about Greek mythology, researching UNESCO world heritage, and working with the chemical reactions behind Alchemy and the geometry of historic structures like Labyrinths! Our high school students will teach everything they have learned to 5th graders who come on a tour of our campus this spring.

The Labyrinth is laid out, but our vision is for it to be a 360-degree garden where visitors can walk to the center, sit on a bench, and be surrounded by the natural beauty of Central Texas.

So, the funding that we are seeking will help us complete that vision! We will landscape the Labyrinth with native Texas wildflowers and make it a place for the whole community to enjoy together.
