My Project

The Spanish books that I am requesting for my students are to increase the opportunity for comprehensible input throughout their semester with me. I want to be able to create a space where students not only learn Spanish vocabulary and grammar but also where they see it being used in real context that is fun and interactive. By the end of their semester with me they will be able to read and comprehend beginner books in Spanish, having learned some usable expressions and conversation pieces.

Having researched the best methods of teaching a foreign language, the comprehensible input classroom has been most highlighted with success.

Having also incorporated many short stories into my classroom curriculum I have become a firm believer that not only do students engage more when there is context around the vocabulary and grammar they are learning, which brings it all to life, but they really enjoy learning that way. In addition I see their confidence soar. It is such a joy to watch that happen. I would be so grateful for the funds needed to support my classroom to be able to do more of this with my students.
