My Students

The school I teach at is a kindergarten through eighth grade school located in a rural town. We have about 510 students in the school. Many in the school are on free/reduced-price lunch and many students come from a single parent/divorced home.

They all have dreams of being a doctor, teacher, nurse, factory worker, banker, and many other types of jobs.

I am a third grade teacher so most of the students are eight to nine years old.

They come to me on a variety of learning levels, some below, some on, and some above. They also learn in very different ways: visually, auditory, and kinesthetically to name a few.

Our athletes strive to do their best as many want to play sports at the high school level.

My Project

My students have recess on a daily basis, but we are in need of some items for them to enjoy recess better. I have a group of boys that loves playing football, but when one forgets it, they are unable to play. We do not have any kickballs for them to play kickball or 4-square. Some girls are interested in playing volleyball, but we don't have one for them to hit back and forth.

We all remember the joys of recess when we were a student in school.

Help these students to create those same memories that your made as a child. Students need more opportunities to play at recess to be healthier.
