Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is made up of fifteen energetic children. Their ages range from three to four years old, and for most of them, this is their first school experience. My students are from different cultural backgrounds, and we have a rich variety of languages spoken by the children and families.

The children in my classroom are full of energy and are caring little humans.

The children in my class are very creative and love to get their little hands into everything that they can reach. I notice that they are eager to learn, and at this age, they love to work with hands-on projects.

My Project

The children at this age need to be exposed to new and rich vocabulary, and one of the ways in which they are exposed to it is by the use of books. Reading is beneficial to the children and it promotes language knowledge at an early age. The use of a listening area will help the children to have easy access to the stories.

Having a special place in the classroom devoted to the reading/listening area will promote their love of learning.

With the help of the reading area, they will engage in learning and understanding new and rich vocabulary. The new vocabulary will make them better communicators. It is important to promote good language literacy habits at an early age.
