The children at this age need to be exposed to new and rich vocabulary, and one of the ways in which they are exposed to it is by the use of books. Reading is beneficial to the children and it promotes language knowledge at an early age. The use of a listening area will help the children to have easy access to the stories. Having a special place in the classroom devoted to the reading/listening area will promote their love of learning. With the help of the reading area, they will engage in learning and understanding new and rich vocabulary. The new vocabulary will make them better communicators. It is important to promote good language literacy habits at an early age.
