Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is working on becoming a greener and more climate aware school. We see a big problem in our community with wasting energy, not recycling and a lack of understanding about climate change. We have created a "Green Team" of young activists to help spread awareness in our school. We are also participating in Climate Action Days with all the other schools in NYC. They are a fun, creative learning opportunities for our entire school community. They are also a way that any school can get started with climate action. Each day will be based on a theme, and will showcase the importance of climate education and sustainability practices. Every school will choose activities, or create their own, that best serve their students and interests.

With Climate Action Days, we are engaging the next generation of leaders in classrooms and communities.

When our teachers, school staff, and students come together to act, we can make a difference! We want to make sure our green team has cool caps and t-shirts to represent and the ability to make posters to put all over the school for our climate action days. These supplies will allow us to use our Cricut to make professional and persuasive posters, shirts and caps for our students. Please help us get our much need heat press to create these amazing shirts and caps!
