My Project

We are looking for ways to strengthen students' connections to nature. These materials will help build students math, literacy and social emotional skills by bringing pieces of nature into our classroom! While we work to build out a strong Nature Based Learning pathway for students, we want to make sure their love of nature continues, even if we are stuck inside on rainy or cold days!

Help give my students access to learning from nature, even when we are inside of our classroom!

Loose parts are such a good way for students to use their imaginations by using tools that don't have an assigned role. They get to be inventors deciding what the rock is today - maybe it is a scientist, maybe it is a shield from the rain - whatever it becomes, they are using their imaginations and logic to figure it out!

These materials will also support math as students count and sort. They will support literacy through the use of imaginations and writing down stories. These materials will help build social skills as students work together to create and explore together! Underlying this all will be opportunities to talk about natural and human made objects, living and nonliving things, as well as learning where these pieces of nature may have come from! Please help us bring these natural tools into the classroom!
