My Students

Imagine a science class where students are actively engaged in activities that increase critical thinking skills. Many of my students come from low-income homes and the science classroom is a scary place for many of them. The students thrive when provided opportunities to critical think using a variety of engaging activities.

My Project

By the time students are in high school, they are usually to listening to the teacher review all of the content that has been covered to help them prepare for a big test. It is a struggle for some of the students to stay focused during a test review like this.

Now imagine a classroom where students are working together doing a hands on critical thinking review to improve their test scores.

Ultimately, the donation for this project will allow my students to have a review in the form of an engaging mystery escape box review activity. Students will have to solve problems, critically think, learn to work collaboratively as a group, all while reviewing the content and eventually lead them to opening the box to earn a reward.
