This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach band at our school. My students are working to change the atmosphere at our school to a more positive one. They recruit students to join band, positively support and encourage their classmates to succeed on the chosen instrument. They push each other to be better and make improvements. Being able to have stands to hold music can make the difference in a student's musical life. Right now I have about 3 student per every 1 stand. Thank you
My Project
Music stands are critical in the band classroom and for performances. Music stands are used to not only hold a students music but to also hold pencils and even small percussion instruments or mallets. Music stands also assist with students using the correct posture while playing their instruments. Using correct playing or standing posture leads to using the correct air stream. Correct air stream leads to using the correct amount of air for the instrument. With the correct amount of air used students are able to make beautiful music. That is what we really strive for, giving each band student the opportunity to succeed not only in band but in life.
