Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an SEI (Structure English Immersion) classroom. I have 32 beautiful outstanding students. My students have many great qualities, some of the qualities that they have in common are discipline and determination to learn. We are a wonderful school; however, we are a high-needs school. More than 75 percent of our students are in the free and reduced-price lunch program.
Although we have a lot to overcome, we are dedicated to the success of all students.
This school year one of my goals is to expose my students to more technology. We live in a modern world where everyday we are moving more towards technology. Our students need to be more prepared to use and manipulate electronics. Unfortunately, in our school we share the computer lab, and our students don't have the opportunity to get enough practice.
Even when we have time to use the computer lab we have so many students that we don't have enough computers for every student to practice. Some of my students do not have computers or tablets at home, the only time that they are exposed to technology is at school.
My Project
Your donation to this project will give my students the opportunity to use technology in daily basis. These tablets will be use for centers during small group rotations. My students will be able to use different learning websites that our school has purchase the licence for, but unfortunately my students had not been able to take advantage off because of the lack of computers.
These tablets will not only prepare my students for the future of technology but it will also be an engaging resource to learn math, reading, grammar and all the subjects.
