I am in my first year of teaching at a wonderful preschool. We are not your typical preschool we serve children with and without disabilities. My classroom is in short supply of materials that my students need to learn through play.
We are a play based program and we know children learn best through play.
These items are not just toys, they are a way for all of our students to learn. A lot of these items are ways my students can practice everyday skills and work on their IEP goals. These items also help give some of our students functional play skills (little people). The loose parts will help to enhance our students imagination and allow them to be creative and play with items in different ways. My students are all caring and loving individuals and as a teacher I want to give them the best that I can, but I need help to do that. Some of these items will help prepare our students for kindergarten and enter kindergarten prepared to succeed. All of my students come from different walks of life, some are Autistic, others come from trauma, some have speech concerns and some have behaviors, but all of my students care and love each other and accept each other for who they are. They deserve these items so they can continue to do great things during their school day and the rest of the school year!
