A day in my classroom is always an adventure. It is a melting pot of learning styles from struggling learners to the highly gifted. We are a Title l school that is overwhelmed with meeting the academic and personal daily needs within our community. My students come from a rural area and low socioeconomic backgrounds, though they come to school ready and eager to learn.
I teach a large number of students who need access to enrichment opportunities beyond what our county is able to provide.
One of my goals is to increase their reading proficiency to help them succeed in school and in life. In turn, I hope to provide learning experiences that will develop a passion for learning beyond the classroom. In our room, we use a mixture of flexible grouping to promote academic success in reading skills and mathematical thinking.

The Fresh Tech of the Year
In West Philadelphia, in June this year
Teachers will be full of cheer.
Coming together, chewing the fat, because they know technology is where it's at.
And this little teacher from a rural town, wants to find out what new tech's around.
So I can teach these children, who are cool, the newest technology designed for school.
I'll go on one little trip, and I might get scared,
but at least my students will know that I care.
But seriously, I'd really like to go and learn about technology that I can bring back and help the students in my rural Georgia classroom. Dice in the mirror, optional! Thank you for considering our project.
