The Falcon Fizz Cart

Help me give my students a well stocked school business. We have a business called the Falcon Fizz Cart run by students who need life skills, including socialization and functional academic skills.

My Project

The students who run this business are impacted with learning disabilities and intellectual disabilities. They are highly motivated through this school business. When interacting with the business they learn important life skills such as socialization, communication, and functional academics. My students struggle to maintain in the general education setting due to their academic and cognitive levels therefore they need to be exposed to real world life skills in a school setting.

These resources will help stock their business so they can sustain it throughout the school year.

Each item is used in the making of Italian Sodas. Staff order drinks for themselves, for their class, or for individual students as a reward. My students have recipes to create the drinks. The jigger helps them measure for the cream, which is not included since is needs to be refrigerated and expires quickly. The large cups are used for staff drinks and the smaller cups are for student drinks. The gloves are for safe handling as they make the drinks. The syrups are the flavors needed to make the drinks, and having a variety of syrups helps students follow a recipe with variety.

Goals include communication verbally and nonverbally. They have learned to take orders over the phone, orders in person, and orders through a google form. Goals also incorporation functional academics in math, writing, and reading. We graph sales, count money, and give change. In writing, students must send out emails from our business email to staff and write down orders as they come in. They must also read recipes to create the drinks.
