My Students
My students love hands on learning, the feel of a book. They learn the most when they are engaged in their learning. It's wonderful to watch these kiddos learn by doing! It is exciting to watch these students choose a book over reading on their ipad.
We are a very diverse school.
My students overcome many challenges daily. Therefore, providing a hands on learning experiences and rich in literacy opportunity is critical. Some of these experience will be the only ones provided to them.
My Project
My students love Magic Tree House books! All year long we are working on comprehension strategies. Mary Pope Osborne created a world of adventure and imagination. She followed up with the Fact Tracker Books.
"These books break complex subjects down into simple concepts that young children can readily comprehend.
They help develop a child’s skills at reaching conclusions through the logic of cause and effect. But the most fundamental gain of the nonfiction Fact Trackers is that they give children an appreciation for the wonders of the “real” world and inspire a curiosity for learning more about history and natural science."
"Writing is a miracle. You can travel anywhere in the world, to any time and any place — and still be home in time for dinner!" Mary Pope Osborne
