Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my students are visual learners. They love to learn more math concepts by looking at models and visuals. Visual learners have specific characteristics that make their learning method unique.
Both note-taking and drawing allow students to visually represent mathematical concepts, making them more concrete and easier to understand.
There has been a study that shows almost two out of three students in a group prefer to study using visual materials in the form of pictures, graphs, charts, and illustrations.
Graph paper is for graphing equations and scale drawing. Pens and notebooks are for note-taking which can help visual learners. Writing notes and drawing engage both motor and cognitive skills, which can improve memory retention of mathematical concepts and procedures.
