This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In first grade, we study a lot of science topics including the life cycles of different types of plants, insects, birds, and other animals. Students are always excited about learning about the amazing life cycle from watching caterpillars go through the beautiful metamorphosis cycle to becoming beautiful butterflies. My first graders love learning about science through hands-on learning. They learn deeply when they get to touch, try out, and do things themselves. Science topics are learned best when they experience firsthand with the right learning kits and supplies.
The science kits and the butterfly nurseries will be a great science motivator for all first grade students in my school.
Our students would be able to see the life cycle up close, through the stages of metamorphosis including the eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises, and butterflies.
