My Students

Our team comes from a diverse school that represents education's struggle to modernize on a shoestring budget. I was hired on to expand the Project Lead The Way program and improve a Computer Science based STEM program. There have been some challenges along the way and I've found a group of great students who represent the best we have to offer.

Today's students are being trained for jobs that do not yet exist; I want to prepare them to rise to that challenge.

We want to form a team for an academic competition that will focus on preparing students with useful skills before they leave high school. We need a little help to get there and we appreciate what we receive.

My Project

The competition puts teams of high school and middle school students in the position of newly hired IT professionals tasked with managing the network of a small company. Teams compete for the top placement within their state and region, and the top teams in the nation earn all-expenses-paid trips to Baltimore, MD for the National Finals Competition where they can earn national recognition and scholarship money.

The students will receive hands-on learning of cybersecurity principles that are relevant and applicable to everyday life.

This includes equipping students to better protect themselves on the Internet​ and giving them an understanding of the ethical responsibilities that come with learning about cybersecurity.
