Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a young second grade teacher working on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. My problem is that I'm afraid bifocals may soon be a reality for me. My eyes have been strained so badly just trying to decipher my children's handwriting that I think I may have to make an appointment with my optometrist. I have tried several activities to help alleviate the curse of the sloppy handwriting, but nothing has worked thus far. In comes the See & Write Handwriting Tutor. This machine will help my kids learn/practice both manuscript and cursive writing. The screen will show them how make the letters, stroke by stoke. I have found that my kids love working on the computer and this tool is similar. I am asking for two of these machines so each one of my students will get a turn once a week. With this tool I am confident that my student's handwriting will improve, allowing me to keep my eyesight and my sanity.
