Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students I teach are academically gifted or high achieving learners who attend Title I schools. They are excited about the world around them and how it works. They are from diverse backgrounds but are all eager and fast learners.
I want them to have the opportunities they need to learn and grow.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
I am requesting the novel The Crossover for my students. Giving students the opportunity to read poetry will help further develop in them the appreciation and love for books. This book will help them become stronger readers and thinkers. Students need more exposure to poetry, and this is a wonderful text to get them interested in and even more excited about reading.
My students will have the chance to read poetry in a novel that is a Newberry Award winning text!
With this project my students will have the opportunity to explore poetry. This book will help my students become even more successful and enthusiastic readers. Having this book in the classroom will engage them in an environment of poetry and fun during this novel study.
